Oh another one. And this is just one of the very funniest TW stories I've read. So downloading right now.
I'm afraid I haven't had time to listen to "Welcome to the Tardis" yet. It's on my ipod, and will keep me company on the way to work tomorrow morning.

yeah, that one is one of my absoulte favourites humorwise. I'm hoping I'm vaguely doing it justice...

Thanks! :-)

I want to tell everyone who's recorded things - I LOVE THEM. When I'm doing mindless stuff at work, it's lovely to be able to listen to my favorite stories on the iPod with no one the wiser. :-)

*gg* Podfic is brilliant for doing mindless stuff. Hope you enjoyed it.

I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your reading of this. It was lively and fun, like the story, and made me laugh all the way through (in the right kind of way ;))

On the concrit front, I can only suggest watching out for 'soft c's - circumstances begins with a 's' sound rather than a 'k' sound. But that was a tiny thing and I only noticed because it was the only thing in the story that sounded out of place. I lovedlovedloved the 'I'm a tree' parts. Brilliant.

Just what I needed, thanks :)

Thank you very much, especially for the concrit. Not being a native speaker, I find it very diffucult to judge whether I'm on the right track or not. Sometimes you end up mispronoucing a word for years and just don't notice. I'll look out for those 'c's in the future. :D Glad you liked.

I work with a Polish girl who has the same problem, although she always complains that English people are too polite to correct her! Er, as you can tell, I'm not ;)

As a rule of thumb, (and because this is English, there are always exceptions, but none that I could find) 'ci' and 'ce' are usually pronounced as 's' while 'ca' 'co' and 'cu' are 'k'. It's a hangover from Latin (sorry - language geek alert...)

Are you planning on recording more? *is hopeful* :)

*g* Without feedback you can't improve, so you may correct me all you like. ;)

As I have language geek tendencies aswell, I really don't mind the latin reference. ;) 'll definitely look out for that rule. It's weird how you sometimes mispronounce a word for so long. For example, only when I started watching TW did I learn how to properly pronounce the word "archive", I always pronounced it a bit more like the german word "Archiv" and I never noticed I was completely wrong.

Well, hearing that my reading is not that bad will definiely encourage me to read some more in the future. Atm, I'm a little busy with uni(the joy of exams! ;) ) and other "fandom obligations"(such as writing German subtitles for the second season of Torchwood and making songvids)... But I'll sure get round to it eventually. :D

I loved the story, and your reading. So damn cute!

I was wondering if you'd like me to compile the podfic into podbook format. This just adds a cover, makes it automatically bookmarkable, and, for those with iTunes, moves it out of the Music folder and into a separate Audiobooks folder where it won't be seen or heard when browsing or listening to songs. It also then automatically shows up in an Audiobooks playlist on an iPod.

If you want me to make it, I'll send you a copy of the URl, and, if it's okay with you, make a post to podslash with credits and a link back here. I could also post the 'book here, or you can just add add a link to your own post if you'd like.

Let me know what you think, and thanks again for the wonderful podfic; I hope you make many more.

Thanks! Sure, go ahead and do that podbook-thingy and post it. Just give me the link to add to my entry here, please. Thanks again, I'm glad you liked it. :D

I loved it! I'll get the 'book posted shortly and send you the URL.

Thanks for letting me do this.

The podslash post with Sendspace link is here. The Sendspace link is long term, but I'll also ask general_jinjur for a permanent link in her archive if you'd like to wait for that before posting.

I also dropped a note to giddy about the 'book.

Thanks for letting me play!

I seem to have previously uploaded a podbook without the cover art attached. Would you please change the Sendspace link to http://www.sendspace.com/file/uefv3b. I've asked general_jinjur to correct the Archive file as well.

Sorry!

Np. Added the link. How do I get to see the cover art anyway? Does that only work in iTunes or something?

Yes, it shows in iTunes, assuming you set your preferences that way, and on an iPod. Here it is, though:

*lol* I didn't notice there was no art, since I got neither iTunes not an iPod. Thanks for showing me, though.

You're welcome. That's a rare Sumatran rhino, in case you're wondering. The red eyes are Photoshopped, of course.

If you ever decide to get iTunes for organizing your files, it's a free download here for both Macs and PCs. It's very nice software.

Pah. Not a realy Ronojiktikel then?! You really should have asked Gwen, I'm sure she occasionally takes pics of their new pet. *gg*

Thanks for the link. I didn't try it yet, because I have a music flatrate with Napster, so I usually use their player to listen to stuff and organize my files.

I have about 30 gigs of music in iTunes on my desktop, but my laptop is just for audiobooks, podfics, and podbooks. I'm addicted to podbooks, of course, and make a lot of their covers, so I like to be able to see the finished products in all their *snicker* glory.

*g* Understandable. You don't wanna know how I squeed when I found out that there was such a thing as audiofic. I love listening to audiobooks, but I always thought it was a shame those weren't of Fanfics... *gg* I'm sure you're busy atm, with amplificathon...
cybel
Apr. 20th, 2008 07:53 pm (UTC)
God, amplificathon is kicking my butt! I can't even keep up with downloading the podfics much less listening to them.

I'm only 'booking a few in my favorite fandoms and those for friends I always 'book for, though. Podbooks are going to be among the prizes for winners, so I don't want to jump the gun on too many of them. I have no self control, though, so general_jinjur understands that I can't bear not to do some of them as they come out.

Really, though, an awful lot of the podfics are in fandoms I have no clue about, so I wouldn't know how to make covers for them anyway.

*gg* Thought so. I didn't even get round to listening to all the podvic Jades posted on tw_audiofic, let alone all the rest...

I completely missed the beginning of amplificton, but I started recording just now. ;) I think it's a great idea, all those podfics that are produced. *bounces happily*

I LOVE THIS FIC. And I was so happy to hear your podfic of it. Everyone constantly muttering, "I am a tree" = <333
